2004 AIH Outlaw - Great motorcycle. I have 1200 miles on it and it runs perfectly. Big Radius exhaust is a good addition.

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

2004 texas chopper, best bike ever!

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

The 2003 Iron Horse Texas Chopper I have has had problems with the front handle bars. They seem to be higher on one side than the other causing the bike to pull to the left. I had it checked out and they installed a washer on the top side of the right side bushing, above the triple tree and retightened the riser bolt. This seemed to help striaghten up the handle bars. I noticed llater that the riser bolt was beginning to crack the bottom side washer and appeared to be about to pull through. If this were to happen, I assume that the handle bars would come loose from the front forks and...crash. Anyone have similar issues or suggestiongs on possible repairs?

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

I've just traided in my 05 H-D Electra Glide with 800 miles on it for the 06 Texas Chopper. I love this bike! No problems at all so far. A lot of attention and questions asked. I would buy it again!

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

2001 Tejas has just been a nightmare. 5 starters, reweld gas tank 2 times. fork seals leak constantly, front pads wear uneven since wheel is shimmed incorrectly, bike has quit on 2 occasions until i found the problem with the wiring to starter relay. Bike always looks great but you better have something else to ride, a qualified tech and deep pockets

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

iJust say NO

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

i own a tejas and it has been a pain in the butt since day one...don`t waste your money...go big dog. aih has terrible customer service too.

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

sweet

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

Same high quality stuff the rest of the line has- and you can get this one with a 124 cu in engine! A 130 hp hardtail! Bad beyond belief!

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

Come on if you've seen one then you know. I don't have to tell you they are the best. If you haven't then sorry and go check them out. The fit, finish, customer service, style, power, ride all of it is awesome. You won't find a better bike for the money or for more money. I can't say enough about my Tejas. It's just pure fun.

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

I have a 2003 tejas and I couldn’t be happier. Pound for pound you won’t find a better bike for the price you pay. What more could you ask for, the ride isn’t bad and since your not going on long trips you will be fine. I spend hours on end on my bike and I love it. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Stick with the Ironhorse you wont be sorry

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

You can’t see the spedo in the sun & they’re inaccurate. Coil covers break while riding down the road. Exhaust shields turn blue. Gas tank coatings come off plugging your fuel system. The tank mounts are welded in the wrong places so they shim. The rubber mounts wear out every 2000 miles. Tail light bulbs melt to the lenses. Rear pulley teeth wear out in 2000 miles. Mirrors won’t stay in alignment. Head gaskets leak. Ignition keys wear out so you can not get them in or out. Then the switch kicks the breaker or some times it just fries wires. Front forks leak. Gas caps leak. Breaks wear uneven. Rim weights fall off. Primary cases leak. Clutch cables break. Handlebars crack. The headlight ring is a dissimilar metal so it corrodes and you can't get it off. There's slop in the front seat mount so it rubs and wears the seat. The seat rivets wear holes in the fender paint. The rivets rip the seat material. The throttle has cheep coating that wears off. Bearings in front and rear make noise along with the primary drive. Just adjusted wrong, do it yourself at least it will be done right. I bought this bike to keep forever so I did 5X the suggested maintence. The rear tire was never (NEVER) spun one time. If you have your bike and ride it for any length of time this is what you can expect. These problems are on all models. They DO NOT honor their warranty. LET ME REPEAT THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY so do not think you are going to get all these things fixed. I have written documentation from their company and they still will not fix half of their defects. To sum it all up American Ironhorse equals BAD QUALITY, POOR WORKMANSHIP AND DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY.

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

I have the Violent Violet with Dueling Hollow Flames XTR Graphics, and the 113 ci upgrade. The cops have pulled me over 6 times- yes I was speeding in each case, but in every case, they just ogled the bike and let me go. Well, there's some of my $40,000 back in the form of saved ticket money! My wife fell off the suction pad passenger seat, but, no matter, I picked up a better-looking chic at the next light!

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

This has been a nightmare. After months of shopping to decide which bike to buy with my 35 grand, I decided on the AIH Stalker. It is a beautiful machine. When it was delivered to my house, the bike would not start. They brought it back the next day telling me it was the sparkplugs. Since then it has left me stranded many times. It has lots of electrical issues. I brought it back to the dealer at least six times. I think it has travelled more miles on a tow truck than being ridden. All the company kept telling me was to bring it back and they will fix it. When I talked to the warranty dept in Texas, I told them I was considering talking to an attorney. The warranty manager laughed at me. Great customer service, eh? I finally did get an attorney. AIH ignored his letters and phone calls, forcing me to file a claim. Now that I have done so, AIH is speaking to my attorney. We will see what happens. I am sure I will get my money back. But I wonder why AIH would not do the right thing to begin with??

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

Like the other guy said about the Legend, these bikes ARE the Rolls-Royce of the world of motorcycles. There is NO production or production custom that is an American Ironhorse's equal. If you want the best, step up to the pump and put your money where your mouth is. Fully polished engines, 240 Metzeler steel belted radial tires, soon to have 280 Metzeler tires, digital tach, digital speedo, House of Kolor paint, 3 choices of engine sizes, TEN different wheel choices, and endless graphic choices? All here, baby! If ya wanna step up from Big Dog, Swift, or Harley, here ya go. I'd give these bikes a 6 star if I could.

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

This is the best motorcycle I have ever owned. I own the exact Outlaw in the 2003 Brochure. I had a 2000 Fatboy that had over $34,000 in it. I never had a bike that ran this good and rides like a dream right out of the box. American Ironhorse hit the nail right on the head.

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

I purchased my Outlaw in July 2001. Ever since that date my bike has been nothing but trouble. I spend so much time out of commission that I forget how good it feels to ride. Other than the numerous recalls on the bike, I have had several bolts shear off, my forks were installed upside down, my rotor was set incorrectly and ate up my pads, my gas tank didn't have its coating and rusted, etc. My most recent problem was that on my last ride my air cleaner and the mount sheared off the bike rendering it again unrideable. Now I don't know about the rest of you, but I am 91.2 miles from the nearest dealer to service my warranty issues. Out here in California that means a $500.00-$600.00 tow. I can't locate a trailer that can fit my truck's height and rentable moving trucks will not let you transport a bike. Now Ironhorse will not reimburse me for any of the costs associated with "their" defective part problems and at best have only offered me the opportunity to pay to join a road side plan that will pay only the first $200.00 of my tow. WHAT AM I TO DO? I'll tell you what I am going to do....SELL THIS PIECE OF CRAP! I will go and buy ANY other bike before I would buy another American Ironhorse product. They couldn't give one away to me! Beware what you buy from this company. You too might have to live through this crap, just like me!

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

Nothing but trouble. The company won't support the dealers. This bike is in the garage more than on the road. Buy a Harley and do it up. OH! one more thing NO Resale Value??

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

This has got to be the premier manufactured custom. The dealer couldn't be nicer. The bike is put together with the fit and finish of a Rolls Royce. It runs and rides so smooth and did I talk about looks, only take it out if you have a lot of time because everyone wants to talk to you about it. Try it you will like it.

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

I have owned my 2003 Legend for 8 months now. Out of that 8 months it has been in the local dealers shop for a total of 2.5 months and has even been returned to AIH in Dallas for 3 weeks to try to fix some electrical and engine issues. It has NEVER ran good. It came back from AIH and ran well for about 2 weeks, now its back in the shop again with the same problems. All I get from AIH is lip service and you cant spend $30k for a bike and have it run like this. I think the service has been less than acceptable for a bike of this caliber. AIH has not done ANYTHING to work with me as a customer other than to keep my bike in the shop. I have lost 3+ months of riding time and no immediate fix is in sight for my bike. Expensive price for some great looks. Next contact may be from someone of legal nature to replace this lemon.

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

I sold my Big Dog and lost a lot of money. But I did get a great bike in this Legend. Great bike so far, looks a lot better than the Big Dog that I had. Much more reliable and much, much, higher quality.

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

That's right, this bad boy is $90,000!!! But there is not another bike like it! Built by Tim Edmondson himself, one of the company's founders. This bike should get a 20 star rating, WCC and OCC bikes don't hold a candle to this one!

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

This is the bike I have dreamed of owning since it first came out in 2002. I finally got my bucks together and drove over 300 miles to buy it as there is no dealer in my city. This bike is absolutely beautiful, anyone would be very proud and lucky to own it. But I'm not a very big guy, 5'8'' and it was just too much bike for me {way too big). I think American Ironhorse should build a slightly scaled down version of the Texas Chopper as we all aren't 6'6". I guees I'll have to keep looking for a smaller Chopper. I'm sure I'll find something, but there is only one Texas Chopper!

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

AIH knows the '04 Texas Chopper has a piece of crap ignition and tell their dealers to replace them with another $6.00 piece of crap ignition switch. After having my bike in twice, I bought a heavy duty round key ignition switch for $20 off ebay and installed it myself... problem solved! I've had my bike for four months (bought new) the odometer has never worked and the speedo reads double the rate of speed I am travelling. The local service department is a joke, I brought it in on 2/19 for 500 mile service (estimated)and for the third time to fix the speedo/odo and today is 3/13 and they are still "waiting on parts" from AIH but it sat there for a week and a half before they ever looked at it! I walked into their service dept. unannounced after two weeks and caught one of the service tech's leaning on the handlebars with his foot propped up on the right foot peg!!! The service tech at AIH told the local tech that my speedo/odo was functioning normally over the telephone. Maybe part of the problem is the local dealer's absolute refusal to stock any parts but when AIH knows about some of these problems, they should take steps to head them off before letting their product out of their distributor's door. The dealer I bought this one from should either get completely in the AIH business or get completely out. BOTTOM LINE: I WOULDN'T BUY ANOTHER ONE!!!

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

just received my new Tejas 4 weeks ago. I have only put 600 miles on it, but absolutely I love it so far. For my taste, it is the best looking bike I've seen! It is one "bad looking machine". I have never had so many passerbys give me a thumbs up! People will pull up along side and just look and look. It is a real head turner whenever you drive by people. Every time I gas up, someone comes over and wants to know what kind of bike it is and where I bought it. I'm still getting used to the raw power that it has and I haven't the courage or experience yet to really get into the throttle. I have goosed it a few times in first and second and it will almost run right out from under you if you are not expecting the power and acceleration. In fact, I am going to get someone to modify the seat so that my seating area is shorter (I'm only 5'10") and where it has more back support to it. I need a seat with a "backstop" so that I will not slide back under hard acceleration. This is one of the most awesome looking bikes that I've seen, and I've been looking at a lot of new bikes over the past year. I've been looking at Harley's, but honestly, Harley just doesn't have the "look" that apeals to me. My Tejas comes with just about everything that you could want. It is completely chromed out and I haven't added one piece of chrome to it. All I'm planning to do at this time is change the factory mirrors. This is the first "hard tail" that I have ever ridden in my life. I have heard horror stories about how rough they ride! I was so surprised when I picked it up and rode it 50 miles to my home. Of course, these were all freeway and highway miles. The ride was unbelieveably better than I ever dreamed of. But, once I got onto some of the rougher roads in town, I quickly discovered what people had told me about hard tails! If you hit a bump or pothole in the road, it will almost toss you completely off. When I took it in for the 500 mile service, the service manager told me that I could let some air out of the rear tire and it would ride better. I checked the air when I got home and it was 39.5 pounds. (it's supposed to be 36 pounds). I let out 10 pounds and it now rides like a completely different bike! I think I am going to let some more air out until it has 25 pounds. I cannot tell that the rear tire looks any different than before. The sound of this bike with the factory exhaust is awesome. I'm not sure that I will replace this factory exhaust system because it sounds great and they tell me that I will actually lose some horsepower. I do not take long trips and I don't have any plans to do so. All of my riding is basically around town. I'm not sure how this bike would be on long trips, but I don't think it would be very comfortable. I usually only ride about 45 minutes to an hour. It is quite an effort to ride the bike for an hour or more. The clutch is extremely hard to operate after about and hour of stop and go riding. It will really strengthen my left hand fingers after riding this bike for a while! Overall, I am extremely pleased with this bike, especially for what I paid for it! For the money, I don't think I could have gotten anything more suited to what I was looking for in looks and performance!

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

2004 Tejas here... I have 4 other bikes: Touring -Harley Road King; sport - Triumph Daytona, Tejas, and a Yamaha v-star custom, the reliable one. The Tejas was in the shop a month after purchase due to a leaking gas tank. It stayed in shop 2 months. Good luck getting a part from AIH. A week after getting it back, the battery won’t hold a charge. I had a new battery sent. The back brake/turn signals keep blowing out from bike vibration. There is no fix for this. Now it is back in the shop because the carburetor is leaking gas. I never saw this happen before. It leaked all over point cover and ruined the chrome. It is in the shop again. Ok, Now the good: It stands out in every crowd and is the best looking bike by far. Hard Tail is not as bad as you would think, until you hit a pot hole doing 70. Hold on! The stock seat is hard as a rock- but send it out for gel, no problem. It sounds great, it's fast and conversation starter. If it will stay out of shop - it is the best hard tail around. If I was doing it again- buy a slammer. It is the same bike with suspension basically.

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

This bike rocks. I just need a 124" but the 111" is pretty strong. Rides smoother than I thought it would, but the seat is hard as a rock. I've only had it for a couple weeks but it started fine even when it was 30 degrees outside. Other than hitting my knuckles on the mirror when I shift and the hard seat, it is a BAD TO THE BONE BIKE.

American_Iron_Horse_Choppers_MY_OPINION

bought my AIH LSC in September of 2004. It is #133 for that year first year. 117' engine with chrome package. I love the handling and the bike but here's my quality issues - thus far. 1.)After riding for almost 1,500 miles I had it pointed out the rear tire was installed backwards. Against the rotational arrow. AIH replaced it via my local dealer. I feel this is a quality issue as it was missed at the factory, dealer prep. 2.)The exhaust is too short and blues the chrome axle cover and frame paint. The poor dumb fools who wanted an early LSC (ME) got stuck with the 21' exhaust instead of the 25' as shown on the prototype and 2005 models. The worst part is Loli Hickson (Warranty Dept. AIH) failed to return my calls or e-mail after I had opened the issue with AIH. My Dealer finally found out via Loli's Manager the short exhaust issue is just the way it is and nothing will be done about it. 3.)My transmission locked up solid as I was changing gears around 45mph. I was lucky to slide, fishtailing, for 50' to a safe stop. The clutch worked fine but the transmission had the rear wheel locked solid. The slide caused a flat spot on the newly replaced rear tire. The shop has the bike and said that AIH is shipping a transmission and tire. The dealer had to argue with Damion (AIH Warrant Dept.) because they had already replaced one rear tire once. Funny, they felt because they had replaced one this issue with the transmission should be handled by the new owner. My dealer was presistant and got a rear tire shipped also. I am not happy with AIH becaue of these issues. The prototype had the long exhaust and because of new bike excitement and no other examples I didn't know otherwise until to late. The transmission lockup is a manager issue and if I had not grown up on motorcross I don't think my experience would allowed for a safe stop.
